Jennifer Hoppins is a writer, puppeteer and visual artist specializing in stories about resilience, creativity and overcoming anxiety about mathematics as an adult.

Jennifer believes in the power of the arts to mend the human spirit, culture and society. Pictured right: the artist standing in a stairwell at Meow Wolf: The House of No Return in Santa Fe, New Mexico, July, 2025. From Goodrich, Michigan and Greensboro, North Carolina, she has lived a life of adventure, heartbreak and love: all this despite not using algebra or higher mathematics.

English degreed from Guilford College, teacher and former math phobic, she is grateful to her family and friends for supporting her in artistic pursuits and tolerating her voracious appetite for learning new things–even when doing math through character development. Tough to identify, she has been called daughter, sister, spouse, parent and employee but likes to live outside of the checkboxes.
